| Carlo Mattioli was born in Modena the 8th May 1911. When he was 14 years old, he moved with his family to Parma, where he studied at the Art Institute and where he will live for the rest of his life. The very first witnesses of his paintings date back to 1938;nevertheless during this period the diagram prevailed , in particular the naked female bodies. In 1940 he exhibited for the first time his paintings at the Biennale in Venice, where he will go back in 1948, 1952, 1954, 1962 and 1968. They will follow other important exhibitions: in 1971 at “Belle arti” Accademy in Carrara, in 1980 at the museum of “S. Francesco d’ Assisi” Church, in 1983 at the University in Parma, in 1984 at “Palazzo Reale” in Milan and in 1986 at “Dei Diamanti” Palace in Ferrara. He died in Parma the 12th July 1994. | |||
